Random Catch Up August 2013

One minute, Kendree is eating in the car...

The next minute, this happens. (sorry it is sideways)

Ronnie's parents made the long drive up to visit, and to go to a Broncos pre-season game. We surprised Easton with it right before they got in the car and he was thrilled.  He actually thought they were just driving to Denver to visit the empty stadium and then realized there would be a game and was even more excited! (Uncle Jord-man was there as well, but no pictures of him).

Another day while Grandma and Grandpa Cali were here, they took the older kids to see Despicable Me 2 and then we did a Devynee swap so Ron and I could have a date.  This meant that Devy got to hang out for the first part of our sushi meal.

We were highly entertained.  We sure do love that girl.

Easton's First Day of Kindergarten

Easton's first day of kindergarten was August 27th. He was super excited and I'm sure a little nervous.  

We dropped off his backpack and supplies the night before at the open house, so it was just a lunchbox the first day.

  Dad was able to go in late to work that day, so the entire family got to drop him off the first day.

I was doing really well holding it all together, until we walked out into the hall and looked back through the door to see him watching us leave.  He looked fine, but that last look at my little big boy got me teary-eyed.

Easton goes to school from 8:35 a.m. to 3:35 p.m. which makes for a looooong day and a tired boy.  The first three weeks were hard as he was SO tired when he got home each afternoon.  Mama had a hard time as well and every day for the first two weeks I was really ready for him to be home by about 2 p.m.

Now, over a month later, Easton loves school. He is adjusting to the schedule and doesn't seem nearly as worn out in the afternoon. He is short on words when telling us what he does each day, but is excited to go and learn each morning.  Ms. Lesh, his teacher has been great and it has been fun to see him growing and learning. Mama is doing better as well.  I am still very ready for the end of every school day, but it is becoming normal to have him away.

One Last Hurrah

The weekend before Kindergarten started, Ron had a meeting in Worland.  We decided to tag along for fun!

While daddy was in meetings, the kids and I headed to the park.  Devynee enjoyed some food.

And did NOT cry in the swing for the first time that I have witnessed.

It was easily 100 degrees that day, but the girls could have swung all day.

Later, we met up with daddy and all of the other meeting participants for dinner.  Devynee charmed them all.

Especially her daddy.

The next day we drove to Thermopolis and visited the dinosaur museum.

Kendree and Easton roared so loud, this t-rex started to turn and run away.

And just as our friends who used to live in Thermopolis tell us, we saw deer EVERYWHERE, just about their business in the middle of town.

Next we visited the hot springs.

Played some mini-golf and REALLY enjoyed our bubble gum ice cream.

We fit in lots of swimming as well.

It was the perfect end to the summer.

First Ever Wyo Family Reunion

I suppose we are a real family now, because we are big enough and old enough to organize a reunion.  My parents, siblings, etc. all gathered in Denver for a quick, but fun reunion.

We first headed straight for the zoo. We listened like elephants.

We climbed in logs.

To say that this one loved the zoo, is an understatement!  She loved looking at every animal and was a trooper.  Now, we have a zoo book that she will look at for minutes (that is saying something) and knows the names of almost all of the animals in it.

We got in a family picture.

We also growled like a tiger.

We also spent some time waiting to drive go karts at Boondocks.

And enjoyed some ice cream.

Really enjoyed some ice cream.

The clouds were gorgeous as we left Colorado.

Not pictured includes time at the Rockies game, eating and more eating, temple visits and swimming.

Perhaps the best moment captured, was this little video of Devynee and Brylen. They had been giving each other the cutest little high fives, so I pulled out the camera.  I got this instead.

Random Catch Up July 2013

Grandma Cali sent a box of surprises with a whole bunch of costumes.  Easton was STOKED to find a spider-man among the bunch.

and Kendree chose the prisoner costume (plus some safety goggles, just in case). We like to think that this is not indicative of their futures. :)

We went to the rodeo during Frontier Days.  We had awesome seats!  Just 4-5 rows above the chutes. Easton was making this exact face in every picture that you could see Devynee in.

and then when Devynee was done, he decided to attempt a smile.  Kendree was too busy with her straw.

Random Catch Up June 2013

Believe it or not, we did more work on the yard.  We even talked Grandpa into helping out.  The kids loved the free rides.

 Devynee was thrilled to steal Grandpa's hat.

The kids and I went over to Laramie to the Wyoming Territorial Prison.  The trick roper asked for volunteers and Kendree immediately ran up (she is the cute little thing in the very front in the white hoodie).

Then she volunteered to jump rope (which she doesn't know how to do).  It was awesome.

June was t-ball season and the girls were good supporters.  Supporters who run onto the field, run away from their mama and need frequent potty breaks, but you know, who is really keeping track?

We celebrated Father's Day!

And realized that we didn't get a mama and kids photo on Mother's Day, so we threw one of those in, but the kids. were. done.

 The t-baller himself! In all reality, Easton loves t-ball.  He will practice for HOURS a week.  All by himself in the backyard.  The neighbors can attest to this, as they have to throw back his home run balls. :)
