The 4th of July!

The 4th of July weekend was the Wyo-family reunion in Scofield, Utah.  We left Cheyenne on Wednesday, the 2nd in the afternoon.  Ronnie was exhausted so I ended up driving from Rawlins to Evanston.  While I was driving, Kendree put her elephant (her lovey), Dor-ffey (who is a boy, by the way) in a comfortable position.

We arrived at my grandparent's house just before midnight and went straight to bed.  In the morning, all of the endowed members of the family went to the temple while Sarah, Jord-man, Grandma-Great and Aunt Jill held down the fort with the kids. (no pictures of this, unfortunately)

We all humored Ron and had In n Out for lunch (is there any other place you can eat?). Then, we loaded up and headed up to the cabin.

By the time we all made it up there (various errands run by different cars), it was time for dinner.  We ate, got settled and watched an old classic, The Buttercream Gang.

Our kids slept crap-i-ly the entire time we were at the cabin and this night was no exception.  Ahhh, well.  Life.  Thanks to all the family that helped and put up with the noise!

The next morning, Ronnie went fishing with Grand Dad and Easton.  From what I understand, they had a great time, even if Grand Dad's quarter mile hike turned out to be about a mile. :) Easton got to reel in two of Ronnie's catches and even touched one in the end.

While they were gone, the rest of us went on a walk to visit the corral.  The kids enjoyed either feeding the horses or screaming and running away from the horses.  Mine were mainly the latter.

This one sure knows how to cheese.

All the kids wanted shoulder rides back to the house, and they had pity on the pregnant lady.  Kendree's "crack" begged to be documented.  The poor kid can not keep her pants up.

The jet skis never ended up running, so the girls got a "ride" on the trailer.

That evening, we headed down to the pavillion and hung out on the giant swings for a while.  These things are gigantic and fun for all.

Devynee thought she was sooooo big as she pushed Brylen.

We then enjoyed a delicious dinner, complete with our traditional red, white and blue drink. [cran-apple on the bottom, blue gatorade in middle, then diet sprite. pour onto the ice, so that the layers stay separate. to be honest, it is great to look at, and just okay to drink]

More swinging after dinner, along with horse shoes and baseball (not pictured).

Poor Kendree and her pants...

The next morning, the boys took all of the kids "fishing" (really just let the girls use their new princess fishing poles).

Then, we met up at the parade (Scofield does all of their celebrating on the 5th).

The parade was perfect. 30 minutes long and the kids got at least 30 pieces of candy each. After it was over, we walked to the old jail and let the kids know what it would feel like...

Jordan looked a little too at home there. ;)

We had a few classic crafts for the older kids to do while the little ones were napping.  Pony beads, perler beads, painting, etc. They were a hit!

I only got a picture of Adam sleeping, but at the beginning of craft time, every single boy in the family (except Easton) was asleep.

The front porch was a popular, cool, hangout.

Alayna asked Dan to help her with her butterfly...

and then stuck around for about five minutes.  Dan, the good father, finished that butterfly right up.  I think he may have even enjoyed it. :)

Even Jord got in on the action.  Perler bead semi-truck? Check!

That is where the cabin documentation ends.  It was a great time with family and we all loved it! We headed out Sunday morning, caught a sacrament meeting in Pleasant Grove and then headed back to Cheyenne. Ron got to see some of my church techniques. Devynee loves it when I load up her arms with stickers, then she takes them off one by one and puts them on the paper.  It lasts at least 15 minutes a week.

A little sewing

For a few birthdays in the family, I made the time for a little bit of sewing.

I've had the supplies for these pillows for well over a year, but just never found a pressing enough excuse to make them.

I'm glad I finally buckled down, now I just need to find the time to make the one for me!

The front and back of pillow #1...

and pillow #2...

The tee ball queen

This was Kendree's first year of tee ball.  She played in the 3/4 year old league and had games two nights a week.  Her coach was great and had things so organized and tried to really get the kids to learn skills, etc.  Well, as much as 3 and 4 year olds can do that.

He taught them all ready position, and this was Kendree's take on that.

The kids rotated positions through the game.  Here, Kendree is playing first base.

The spectators got pretty silly sometimes...

Another "ready position" picture.  I just loved this. (she's in the gray and pink jacket)

Sometimes she still got a little bored...

And then regained focus...

Kendree hits!

Kendree hits again!

And yet again! (I could seriously watch tee ball for hours and hours - and I do!)

Finally, it was the end of the season and the greatest day arrived.  The day when the medals are handed out.  She has watched Easton receive four medals over the last few years and was so excited for her FIRST medal!

It's been four days now (when I wrote this post) and she still brings it out and shows it to me at least once a day.
