2011 Picture Catch Up

Pictures that were taken off of various phones, ipods etc. throughout the year.

Devynee - 1 month

It is seriously crazy to think that this little girl is one month old.  While I can remember what it was like to take all of my kids to the store (something I don't like to attempt now), it is hard to remember not having her in our family.  And then I realize that I have three kids and it makes me think that I should feel like a real grown up (I don't).

And now a few bullets:
  • Devynee is a very content baby.
  • She sleeps in her bassinet at night and in her bassinet or swing in our main room for naps.
  • Noise is not something that bothers her.
  • She is a champion eater, but my noisiest.  It's hard to nurse her discreetly, as everyone knows exactly what she is doing from the noises she makes.
  • She is also my spittiest baby, by far.  Easton virtually never spit up (I even stopped carrying burp rags with him) and Kendree did a little bit, but Devynee will spit up as much as I just fed her (or so it seems).
  • So far, she hasn't shown the same aversion to chocolate in my diet that my other kids did, so I'm enjoying having a little chocolate.  I never have a lot though, as I don't want to start the belly aches if I can help it.
  • She gives me at least one 4-5 hour stretch at night, but is inconsistent as to when that stretch will be (sometimes 11-4, sometimes 1-6).
  • She tolerates the tough love of her brother and sister very well.
  • She will take a binky, but doesn't have the need to suck all of the time like Easton did at this age. I'm just happy that she will take it when I need her to, as Kendree hated the binky all of the time.
The official 1 month shots on her quilt:

    Christmas day...our Santa baby.
Smiling in her sleep (seriously, how cute is this!)
And now a little sibling comparison:  The top picture is Kendree at 1 month old and the bottom is Devynee at 2 days shy of 1 month old.
And Devynee all ready for church on Christmas day
    We sure love her!

Kendree - 22 months

At 22 months, Kendree is suddenly seeming like a very big girl!  I'm sure that has nothing to do with her baby sister's arrival. :)

This month Kendree:
  • Had no new teeth break through.  Still just 10 that serve her well.
  • Began singing as she wanders around the house.  It is so cute.
  • Walks on her tip toes almost everywhere she goes (unless she is trying to win a race with Easton, in which case she is all business).
  • Has become an expert twirler!
  • Loves to dress up, especially when Easton is also in the dress up bin.
  • Continues to ask "Why?" all of the time.  Most times I try to explain the reason the first time, and then just answer with "because."  99% of the time, that satisfies her.
  • Learned to push a stool around to get up higher when she wants something (something Easton still doesn't really get).
  • Loves to hold her baby sister, but only for about 3 seconds at a time.
  • Has become a little more clingy to mama (wonder why?).  I used to be able to check on the nursery class in church (I'm over them in the presidency) and she didn't care at all.  This month she threw a massive tantrum when I left again and didn't take her with me.
  • Takes one nap a day for 2.5-3.5 hours.
  • Is officially attached to her blankie for naps and at bedtime.
  • Loves to pretend to talk to Aunt Sarah on the phone.
  • Will attempt to do whatever you ask her to (get a diaper, put something away, etc.)
And now on to the pictures!

These are the two pictures I took on the official 22 month day!

And a random one of both kids being "super" with their capes on.  Mama really needs to Kendree's real cape finished so she doesn't have to use that blanket anymore. :)
