I'm a little behind on all of our happenings, but at the end of May, we officially handed over the keyes to our first home. Such a bitter sweet moment. So many memories, two babies came home to this house, countless hugs and kisses (and kid-scuffles) took place here. Blood, sweat and tears were put into updates and the yard. We are so blessed to be in the home we now have, but we were also blessed in this little home.

On May 31st, we closed on our new home. We are loving the space and the view. It feels so surreal to finally be living in the place that has consumed our lives for the last 9 months.

Instead of dealing with this mess, I'm sitting down to a very large bowl of ice cream. Even though I know I'll just have to deal with it later, sometimes it feels good to procrastinate.

These cute girls have been the best of friends since birth. Devynee asks to look at pictures of Saya on my phone everyday and has plans for a wonderful pen-pal relationship until they can be roommates at college.

This guy is our favorite. Happy Father's Day Ronnie! We sure are glad you are ours!

Although she was cranky this day, Brynlee loves Jill and would cry if we drove down her street and then didn't stop in to visit.

Happy Mother's Day to the most wonderful lady I know! I'm so grateful for her example, faith and love.

We got to celebrate this great guy yesterday! We love him like crazy and look forward to many more years!

Granite is all installed. Hooray for progress.

Devynee graduated from the South High School preschool yesterday. She loved every minute. Now on to the district's Pre-K program next year! Obviously, the sun was a little bright today.

A cuter Kindergarten graduate, you never did see.  We are so proud of our Kendree girl and how she has thrived in school this year! Pictured with her beloved teacher who I love more than words can express. She was the perfect teacher for Kendree. Encouraging and developing the strengths of Kendree's lively self while teaching her to channel her energy in productive ways. Seriously, I wish I could take her with me to our new school next year.

The New House: May

May was move-in month which means a lot of things happened and I have approximately a million to share in this post.  Brace yourselves - or skip this, whatever you prefer.

Granite was installed at the very beginning of the month. It was a relief that I still liked the stone since I had only ever seen a one foot square piece of it. These were the pictures Ronnie texted to me that day as I was working in Laramie.

In the laundry room, I did a different granite (only room in the house that I switched).  This one was selected off a 3 inch square piece of granite.

 A few days later, I had done some cleaning and took some more pictures.

 In preparation for final inspection, Ronnie and my dad built these back steps.  We decided to build them with Trex (or something like that from Menards) so that we will never have to sand them.  That was one thing that was such a pain with the steps at our last house.

Next up, the plumbers came in to install final fixtures and a few appliances.

Then, carpet was installed and it started to actually feel like a house!

That view never gets old (well at least not yet).

On Saturday, May 21st, we moved in. We had received our Certificate of Occupancy two days before. We had a ton of help and couldn't have done it without everyone's help.  I also decided that I am never moving again.

It's kind of hard to see, but we waited a few days to get the shower door installed.

These barstools were some of the first furniture purchases made.  I love them but Ronnie does not.  At $24 a piece, the price couldn't be beat and they definitely work for now.

Also before final inspection (but picture waited until after) Ronnie and a few friends put in this steel railing on the front steps.

We officially closed on the home May 31.  It was an amazing feeling to actually have the house be ours after months and months of work.

 Just a few days ago (so the end of June, I took the following pictures of the "after" of moving in.  We are not done yet, but this is a good representation of feeling done-ish
