Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

On Christmas Eve, we drove over to Laramie to hang out with my family.  We relaxed around the house, helped get dinner ready (our traditional eat what Jesus ate dinner) and played Christmas songs on the chimes.

After dinner, it was time to act out the Nativity while my dad read the story from the scriptures.

This may be my favorite picture of the night...the kids looks and the Angel Sarah trying to listen to what she proclaims so she can repeat it.
Then, the shepards came and saw the baby Jesus.

Easton switched roles quickly to be a wiseman with Jord-man (the ham).
And the entire crew (minus our narrator--the position Ronnie aspires to have someday).
On Christmas morning, Easton woke up just before 7:00 a.m. and wandered into our room.  We cuddled with him for a minute or two and then went to wake Kendree up (Devynee got to keep sleeping as she had just been up at 6:00.

Ronnie got the video camera ready and turned on the tree and then the kids marched down the hall to see what Santa had brought.

They were both spoiled as Kendree got a playhouse and Easton got a Cars bike.  My favorite part was how Easton didn't see his bike at first, regardless of the fact that he had to squeeze between it and the couch to get to his stocking.  I had to ask, "Easton, what is that big thing right there?" before he realized that it was for him.  Classic.

We videotaped the entire Santa part, which means that I didn't take pictures until we were opening presents.

Kendree wanted to play with everything she opened (like this stegosaurus hat made by Aunt Alisa) while Easton just wanted every single present open so he could survey them all before he started playing.
Easton trying to get through the presents and Kendree eating her mini box of cereal dry and trying out her new hair clips.
Devynee with her loot:
 Easton with his:
And Kendree (who wouldn't give me the time of day) with hers:
I'd say the kids were spoiled!

Easton on his new bike downstairs.  An unfinished basement is a wonderful thing sometimes.  We go down and do a few laps every day.

 Kendree with her playhouse.

On Christmas day, we opened presents and then hurried to a tri-ward sacrament meeting at 11:00 a.m.  After a great musical service, we came home, ate lunch and then headed back over to Laramie for more food and some games, etc.

Kendree had an unfortunate meeting with my mom's new wooden ribbon spool holder and cut her lip.  This was the next morning.

Easton got a Kobe jersey and Laker pajama pants, which he has worn every other day since Christmas (just as soon as Mama can get them clean again).
We had a wonderful Christmas.  It was the perfect mixture of low-key and spending time with family and with a 4 week old, it was just what mama needed.
