Success!

Saturday, we drove over to Laramie to say hi to the fam, pick up some shelving for our basement and for Ronnie to take a ride out to the ranch to see if there were any elk.

It had snowed earlier, and was pretty darn windy (I know, I know, when isn't it windy around here?) so no one (Ronnie and my dad included) thought that they would see anything.

But then, there were elk!

Elk that were close!

And Ronnie got himself a cow elk (bull season is over).  Our freezer is stocked for the winter (or will be, once we actually get the meat all cut up and in it).

Photographic evidence:
And Easton and Ronnie with the animal (please note that even Easton's feet are as far away as he could manage).
Let's just say this has led to a lot of really fun conversations about shooting, whether people have blood like elk do, why the elk's tongue was hanging out and on and on and on.

Aren't we glad that we have these experiences for our kids to learn from? :)

Go Ronnie!! Josh will be jealous when he hears about this. Just another reason he will want to move back west.
